A Global Curriculum: Preparing highly principled business men and women to think globally and lead responsibly.
The Georgetown MBA Program has emphasized the global business environment since its inception. In direct response to emerging patterns in the business world, Georgetown reviewed its MBA curriculum. After nearly two years of extensive self study and feedback gathered from faculty members, students, alumni, and corporate employers and friends, Georgetown launched an MBA curriculum that is squarely focused on the realities of contemporary business.
The curriculum's organization -- into intensive team-based experiences, courses that integrate various functional areas, and selective courses that offer choice -- is designed to give students the tools and skills they need to anticipate, analyze, and solve increasingly interrelated and complex business challenges.
The MBA Program provides a general management framework in accounting, decision sciences, economics, finance, marketing, and management. During the summer, students may choose to pursue internships or study abroad programs and, in the second year, everyone participates in a one-week international experience.
Students work on projects for companies in cities around the world, including London, England; Rome, Italy; Prague, Czech Republic; Hong Kong, PRC; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Delhi, India; Buenos Aires, Argentina and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Second-year students travel to the county in which their project company is located and present their findings to top management. And every student has the opportunity to choose courses according to individual interests and career goals.
Throughout the curriculum, international management strategies, ethical decision making, and strong interpersonal, teamwork, and presentation skills are emphasized and practiced. The Georgetown MBA Program offers something distinctively different in graduate management education. The focus is global -- where business is now and in the future.
